“I hate you, but I love you”

Have you ever heard the myth about the thin line between love and hate? Well, this article intends to discover if it is possible to love and hate at the same time. It is scientifically proven that you can hate the person you love, because emotions are linked with the human brain. Scientists have discovered that the nervous circuits in the brain responsible of the physical nature of hate, are the same as those that are used during the feeling of love. While loving someone, we want them to thrive; nothing like when we hate someone. Hating someone, means we are more likely to wish they don't succeed or at least they change who they are. Most of these cases happen when the two people are opposites, or when your love is not reciprocated.

Love and hate don't substitute each other, but they rather coexist together. These emotions are directed towards another person because of who he or she is. They have a lot in common, since they both are emotions of passion; due to this, our body reacts in similar ways. Both can make us act irrationally, make our hearts race, our pupils dilate, and our palms sweat. We may hate someone because we love them, and we feel unable to free ourselves from that love. For instance, when you love someone, but you know that it is impossible to have a relationship with that person. In this case, your feelings usually will stay, but you will as well develop a feeling of hatred.

After that brief explanation, do you still think love and hate are opposite feelings? Well, they are not as different as they seem. Although many people say that they are, in many situations these two come together to make us doubt about what we feel. When this happens, one of the most common feelings in the world appears, jealousy. Jealousy is the feeling that is right in between love and hate, because when you love someone you hate other people spending time with them. It might sound possessive or crazy, but it’s entirely natural; when it isn’t extreme or asphyxiating. Going back to the myth of the thin line between love and hat, it’s very clear that in some cases that imaginary line exists, since it is very easy to go from love to hate with the person you’re having a relationship with. This because no relationship is perfect, and although it’s part of the nature of human beings, it is necessary to control the anger each one handles it in a different way.

The music brought us together,

Made me realize you were the one.

Although you were young and pure

And I was still with someone.

I saw you nine years ago,

But I could have never imagined.

Little did I know

That for you I would be falling.

The day we first played together.

It was something out of this world.

We ate, we laughed, we played.

You left me wanting more.

Through rehearsals I realized

I love playing with you.

That night, at your party

It was a dream come true.

I wanted to dance with you.

But I didn’t dare to try.

Still, when I remember that moment,

I can’t help but smile.

And we went together to a far away place,

I remember that day like the back of my hand,

It was New Year’s Eve

I kissed you on a far away land.

After that day everything changed.

At first it was tough, I must admit it.

We were different, we fought a lot,

But we built our relationship bit by bit

You’ve taught me so many things,

You’ve helped me through my darkest times,

You’ve put up with my bad temper.

To express the love I have for you I need more than rhymes.

I’m thankful for being with you,

Looking back, I regret nothing.

I learned you should always follow your heart

Even when you don’t know where it’s going.

We’ve been together for more than a year,

But I feel like I’ve known you forever.

Our story has much more to be written.

We have many adventures to face together.

We have grown as a couple,

We have learned from one another.

And I know than even if we’re fighting

We can still count on each other.

Without our passion for music

We wouldn’t be where we are.

You’re my favorite song

My sky, my moon, my star.

You’re the music in my soul

You’re the song I’ll always love

My passion, my smile, my thoughts

You’re the only one I can think of.

My love, my life, my everything

Without you i could never live

I need you more than I need music

For you, my life I would give.
